Her descriptions are so vivid, they make you feel like you’re right there in the midst of it all. If Sabaa Tahir is good at one thing, that thing is writing. Reaper just keeps going and going with the action, and you just can’t stop reading. At the end of every chapter, I had to keep going. Reaper starts right where Torch left off, and it doesn’t hold back. I applaud the people who had to wait for their patience because just the couple of weeks I had to wait were torturous.

Because of that, I didn’t have to wait for the third book, A Reaper at the Gates, for very long. I jumped onto the Ember train a bit late in the game – I just read An Ember in the Ashes back in early April. Curse it for making us strong through loss and pain, our hearts torn from our chests again and again. Curse this world for what it does to the mothers, for what it does to the daughters.
